LCD Backlight Module

LCD products are non active light-emitting electronic devices that do not have luminous characteristics and must rely on the emission of the light source in the backlight module to achieve display performance. Therefore, the brightness of LCD is determined by its backlight module. It can be seen that the performance of the backlight module directly affects the display quality of the LCD panel.
The backlight module includes lighting source, reflector, light guide plate, diffuser, brightening film (prism), and frame, etc. The backlight modules used in LCD can be mainly divided into two categories: side light backlight modules and direct light backlight modules. Mobile phones, laptops, and monitors (15 inches) mainly use side lit backlight modules, while LCD TVs mostly use direct beam backlight module light sources. The backlight module light source mainly uses Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp (CCFL) and Light Emitting Diode (LED) light source as the backlight for LCD.
The reflector sheet, also known as a reflector cover, is mainly used to completely feed the light emitted by the light source into the light guide plate, minimizing unnecessary consumption.
The main function of a Light Guide Plate is to guide the light emitted by the side light source towards the front of the panel.
Prism Film, also known as Brightness Enhancement Film, is mainly used to refract and reflect scattered light through the film layer, concentrate it at a certain angle, and then emit it from the backlight to enhance the display effect of the screen.
The main function of a diffuser is to correct the side light of the backlight module into a uniform surface light source, in order to achieve the effect of optical diffusion. There are two types of diffusion plates: upper diffusion plate and lower diffusion plate. The upper diffuser is located between the prism and the LCD component, closer to the display panel. The lower diffuser is located between the light guide plate and the prism, closer to the backlight.
